LEED Certification for Indoor Air Quality
LEED certification helps owners and developers create high-performing green buildings, reducing carbon emissions, saving water, conserving energy, reducing waste, and ensuring that the Indoor Air Quality environment is safe and healthy for all occupants. Ithaca Health Ltd. can complete the testing required for certification under LEED V4 or LEED V4.1, including:
Particulate Matter and inorganic gases
Ithaca will test for the particulate matter (PM) and inorganic gases listed, using an allowed test method, and validate if contaminants do not exceed the concentration limits listed in the LEED standard:
Carbon Monoxide
Particulate (PM 10 and PM 2.5)
Ozone
Volatile Organic Compounds
Ithaca Health Ltd. will perform a screening test for Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC), using EPA TO-17 to collect and analyze the air sample. If the TVOC levels exceed 500 μg/m3, Ithaca Health Ltd. will investigate by comparing the individual VOC levels from the initial results to recognized health-based limits. Additionally, Ithaca Health Ltd. will test for the individual volatile organic compounds listed below using an allowed test method and validate if the contaminants do not exceed the concentration limits listed in the LEED standard:
Formaldehyde
Acetaldehyde
Benzene
Hexane
Naphthalene
Phenol
Styrene
Tetrachloroethylene
Toluene
Vinyl acetate
Dichlorobenzene
Total Xylenes
